  On Tuesday, November 29th, the MVTMA will host its annual Fall Municipal Roundtable at Putnam Investments in Andover. Featured guests include Andrew Flanagan, Andover Town Manager and Paul Materazzo, Andover's Planning Director. At the meeting, we will discuss anticipated property, water and sewer tax rates and learn the status on a variety of other town projects. For its 20 th Birthday, the MVTMA will develop a S trategic P lan

In 2017, the Merrimack Valley TMA will turn 20! Founded in 1997 as the River Road TMA, the TMA has had the pleasure of assisting our members with many transportation and infrastructure projects over the years. In "honor" of our 20 years of service to our members , the TMA will create and execute on a strategic plan. We have hired the consulting firm Ease Consult to assist us with this endeavor and we will be calling on many of our members for input as we work to enhance the value of the TMA so we can serve you well for yet another 20 years!
MBTA Explores Changes to Payment Structure

In late September, the MBTA announced new capabilities coming down the pike for how commuters can pay for public transportation in the Boston metropolitan area. By 2018, riders will be able to:
  • Pay by phone or credit card at all stops
  • Have their CharlieCards read at all doors/gates
  • Tap in and out on all stops
  • Integrate their trips with transportation network companies (TNCs) like Uber, Lyft and the Ride
Inaugural TDM Forum: Lessons Learned
MVTMA Executive Director Andrea Leary attended the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) National's Inaugural Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Forum October 11 th and 12 th in Boston. The conference was packed with TDM professionals from across the country and Congressman Michael Capuano (MA-7; member of the House Transportation Committee) gave the opening remarks. Kenneth Kimmell, President of the Union of Concerned Scientist (UCS) provided the key note address.
After the conference, Ms. Leary met with Dan Gatti from UCS for initial conversations about how the TMA can collaborate with the organization to help the state achieve GHG emissions reductions and help our members to comply with the Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Rideshare Regulation.
Holiday Promotion  
The holiday season is almost upon us and the MVTMA is back with another Holiday Promotion. Details will be coming out via email soon but it will involve our website and a short quiz (it will be easy, we promise!). Shiny new gift cards will be raffled off to three lucky winners. Stay tuned!
Gerry-Lynn Darcy featured speaker at MVCC Women in Business Luncheon  
Merrimack Valley TMA Board member Gerry-Lynn Darcy will be the featured speaker at the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce Women in Business luncheon on December 19th. Ms. Darcy will discuss her success in a male-dominated industry beginning with her work at her family's real estate company to her position today as Vice President of Real Estate for the Lupoli Companies, a leading developer of commercial real estate in the Merrimack Valley.
