Auxiliary Bishop Ordination Update

Excitement is mounting in the Mary Magdalene Community and the ECC as we prepare for the ordination of Rev Denise Donato as Auxiliary Bishop to Bishop Francis Krebs on Friday, Feb 9 at 6:00 . Denise is the Pastor of Mary Magdalene Church in Rochester, NY and is a founding member of the ECC. She and her husband, Phil, have three adult children and four grandchildren. 2018 is a big year for Denise and Phil. "Phil and I actually celebrate 40 years of marriage this year! It's a huge year for us! I celebrate my 60th birthday Feb 7, on Feb 22 I celebrate 15 years as priest. Our oldest son is getting married in April (he's 38 and never been married). Phil retires on May 1, and we celebrate 40 years of marriage June 17th," Denise said. And now she's being ordained a bishop on February 9th!

"Join with me in giving thanks to God for  this great gift. Denise is a remarkable person, with whom I have had the pleasure to collaborate on many occasions over the years. I look forward to serving collaboratively with her as my colleague in episcopal service!" says Bishop Krebs.

Thank you from Danny's Family

Thank you for the beautiful white roses and lily flower arrangement sent to honor our mother. This is appreciated by our family--and that several church members attended the visitation or funeral. Your thoughtfulness is much appreciated. Thank you for your prayers.

Scripture Readings for Sunday
...but those who wait for Adonai shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.

 Psalm 147:1-12, 21c

  H allelujah!
How good it is to sing praises to our God! *
how pleasant it is to honor God with praise!

In fact, I do all that I do for the sake of the Gospel in the hope of having a  share in its blessings.

Mark 1:29-39

That evening, at sundown, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. And the whole city was gathered around the door. And he cured many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.

In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.
