Sisters and brothers:
I need to highlight some things that are going on here at St. Jerome's. First, we have scheduled a Church Clean-up Day THIS Saturday from 9 until early afternoon. The more folks that get involved, the quicker we'll be done. Everyone has things they could be doing on their Saturday. So, I hope you'll pitch in where you can to spiff up our beautiful space in a timely way so that we can all enjoy some weekend.
Second, this Sunday we'll be offering Children's Ed. Theo has created a space downstairs in the Parish Hall for our kiddos and we've purchased some children's resources. Now all we need is for our kiddos to show up. If you have children, or grandchildren or have friends who have children, please make sure they know we have something available for them!
Third, we have our upcoming Bazaar and Tour on October 14 & 15. We not only need donations (and shoppers!) we also need folks to help staff the Bazaar. That Sunday, we are also scheduled to be included in the Brady Heights Historic Tour. So we will need "Storytellers" to tell our story and docents to guide people through.
Lastly, I just want to say that I am excited about our attendance lately. THANK YOU! I hope you will keep up the good work! As you may recall, I challenged us to strive for having 75 folks in worship by the end of this year. We're not there yet, BUT, it is still a realistic goal that we could achieve if we tried. It is not secret that we all feel an increase in joy, energy and enthusiasm when we have newcomers AND when our regulars are faithful in worship!
Blessings!
Fr. Dewayne

We have scheduled our periodic Church Clean-up Day for THIS Saturday,
October 7th. As you know, we've been having lots of work done around the church, so we have many chores to do: sanding, staining, varnishing, vacuuming, washing, dusting, polishing, and some light maintenance.
This is one way to contribute of your Time, Talent, & Treasure--in this case, it's your time--and we'd
really appreciate it. Many hands make for lighter work! Work begins at 9:00 a.m. See you there!

Calling all children! Our leaders are planning to offer a Children's program this Sunday. We have decorated a special space for our children. Come check it out!

We've heard from a number of you and have found the Christmas Eve Survey helpful. Thank you for taking the time and effort!
So far, here is how the survey is trending:
1. While a good number wish simply to "skip" Advent 4 on Dec 24th, the majority would like some sort of service on Saturday, Dec 23rd.
2. While there has been some discussion about changing the time of our Christmas Eve Mass, the clear majority seems to want to keep it at our regular 11:00 pm time slot.
3. This year decorating for Christmas Eve will be extra difficult. An overwhelming majority are willing to trust our judgement to do what we can in a timely fashion.
4. We like to party. A majority of folks want us to have a festive reception before Christmas Eve Mass.
5. The top two ways that folks think we might attract more people to worship on Christmas Eve is by each of us inviting others, or by changing the Mass time. (This response is interesting since most want us to keep our regular time slot.)
6. Almost all of our responders have indicated that they are willing to assist with our Christmas Eve Mass. We hope that everyone will pitch in this year to make this one extra special.
If you haven't yet done so, please take a moment to take the Christmas Eve Survey. We want to hear your thoughts, but, please hurry, the survey will end this week!

The Rosary is being offered every Sunday in the St. Mary Chapel between 10:30 and 10:55 a.m. Even if you don't yet know how to pray the Rosary, you are encouraged to join in. Instructions and Rosaries are provided.

Our Parish will be listed on this year's Brady Heights Home Tour on October 15th. We need to find docents who will help lead tours and share some information about the parish and our historic facility.
We are also looking for photos or any "historic" documents that might help us tell our story!

God, you are the source of life and growth. Pour out your Spirit upon us that we may grow together in wisdom, love, devotion, and faithfulness. Stir up within us a desire to draw closer as one family. Give us a yearning for outreach, that we may serve a hurting world; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.
