Following a campaign by Arrhythmia Alliance, AF Association and dedicated clinicians NHS England has, launched 30 day public consultation on

If this does not change via consultation then
LAAO procedures will be commissioned and funded nationally by NHSE in this restricted patient population.
There is still a possibility that this will not go forward to full commissioning policy, but it is a big step in the right direction.
It is vital at this time that patients and clinicians respond positively to this consultation to ensure eventual full publication.
All registered stakeholders have 30 days to review the proposed commissioning policy, and comment on all it. At this stage,
the policy is provisional, and nothing is certain until the consultation is complete, and the final commissioning policy is published. Consultation closes 1
st
April 2018.
