The Writers Room

This month we have been honored to welcome published author, playwright, and spoken word poet Mrs. Rachel Reece, as a DSOTA guest instructor. She has been teaching the first of two creative writing classes designed specifically for school aged writers!

This summer, Mrs. Reece will once again return to Destin School of the Arts to teach creative writing! For the summer session classes, she is expanding the age requirements to include students in grades 6 - 8 as well as grades 9 - 12, and will be basing her creative writing class curriculum on the William Goldman classic, The Princess Bride.

Next month, the little artists will be focused on their Interpreting Song Through Sign Language unit and we can't wait to see what they have in store for us!

It is never too late to learn!
Some of the students here at Destin School of the Arts of which we are the most proud are our adult beginning students! It takes a lot of bravery to learn a new skill as an adult...and our amazing instructors never forget that!
