Montana county and city governments, tribal governments, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses are eligible to receive a grant. Match requirements apply and vary depending on the type of applicant. There is no deadline to apply; applications will be accepted continually and awarded as funds become available.

The program, located on the shores of the largest lake in Mexico, provides free housing and food for one writer and one emerging artist for one month. National and international visual artists, photographers, writers, playwrights, new media makers and musicians over the age of 23 are welcome to apply.

The National Endowment for the Arts is announcing a new focus for the NEA Big Read program on contemporary authors and books written since the founding of the NEA 50 years ago. This is the 10th anniversary of the NEA Big Read, and we hope this updated list of books for communities to choose from will broaden the opportunities for discussion and increase the range of voices, perspectives, and writing styles for future NEA Big Read applicants to choose from.

The Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture is partnering with the International Trout Congress to curate two exhibits in the Emerson's Lobby and Weaver Room Galleries this fall.
