Learn to paint with acrylics on canvas during a studio session with artist Peggy Brewer. This time, complete a version of Robert Indiana's iconic LOVE painting.

A $10 fee, payable to the instructor at the beginning of the class, covers all supplies. Peggy will provide a smock but recommends dressing in old clothes.

Gourmet Girlfriends: Comfort Foods

Beat the winter blahs with warm and delicious comfort foods from "Your Gourmet Girlfriends," Pam Cooley and Jan Owens. You'll taste samples during this event and receive a free recipe booklet with loads of recipes (some of which can be made in a crockpot). Then enjoy these high-carb, high-sugar, home-cooked dishes in your own kitchen.
Color Me Calm

Escape from the bleak mid-winter by coloring with other adults at the library. Listen to soothing music, sip a hot beverage, and color your way to calm tranquility.

Epic Trivia Smackdown!

Join us for a fun-filled evening of friendly competition as the library holds its 3rd annual trivia contest. Entry is free!

Teams (up to six members of all ages) can consist of friends, family, coworkers--anyone. Decide on a captain, then list you team's name and enter the number of players. (Only one person per team needs to register. Please use your captain's name.)

First- and second-place teams win Walmart gift cards for each player, and the team that shows the most spirit wins an award. We encourage you to decorate your table and wear costumes that match your team name.
Quilts & JW Riley

The Riley Boyhood Home and Museum are partnering with the library to bring you expert quilter and author Cindy Claycamp. 

At the library, Claycamp will have numerous quilts on display and talk about her new book, "Quilts Reflecting the Poetry of James Whitcomb Riley." Copies will be available for purchase and signing as part of the event. 

Claycamp is one of fewer than 100 certified quilt appraisers approved by the American Quilt Society in the United States. She has been quilting for almost 40 years. She recently served as president of the Indiana State Quilters Guild and is currently on the board of directors for the Quilters Hall of Fame in Marion, Indiana.

The Riley Boyhood Home and Museum, which is normally closed in March, will open by appointment from 12-2 PM for those attending the quilt event who would like to take a tour. Please call the museum ahead of time at (317) 462-8539 to schedule your tour. Admission is $4 for adults, $3.50 for seniors, $1.50 for visitors 17 and under.
Craft Closet Clean-out

The library is doing some cleaning in the crafts closet. We have LOTS of leftover supplies available for you to make easy eye-catching crafts. Library staff will be on hand to provide instructions for specific projects, or you can come with your own ideas.
