GUEST BLOG WITH MISS ATLANTIC SHORES 2018
Posted On January 10, 2018

For as long as I can remember, I have been involved in the arts. A comprehensive arts education was at the center of my young life. I grew up at the Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven, and every day was a new adventure. I took private lessons in dance ...

Arts Ed NJ Season of Giving
Arts Ed NJ begins this new year with appreciation and gratitude! THANK YOU, to the many loyal ambassadors who made a year end gift in 2017. In the final six weeks of the year we raised $14,000 together! We heard directly from supporters, and learned why Arts Ed NJ is so important to them.

One ambassador, Tiffany Festa-Sneddon, created her own fundraiser for Arts Ed NJ on #GivingTuesday. Afterwards, Tiffany shared her views about arts education, “ I personally have seen the arts take my own students onto amazing paths of their own. This is arts education. The power is real and the time is now.” Though #GivingTuesday offers every ambassador a special opportunity to be part of a global day of giving, throughout the entire giving season we received support from more than 50 new donors.

At the start of 2018 we invite all arts education ambassadors in New Jersey to share in our renewed sense of purpose. Let’s make this the year that we reach universal access to arts education for all students. Together we can make ARTS ED NOW a reality for Every Child in Every School across our state!
#ArtsEdNow Must Not Miss TV! Classroom Close-up at Paramus High School - ArtsEdNow

The goal of the ArtsEdNow campaign is to increase participation in arts education in schools across New Jersey. Leading the charge is the Paramus School District, which has taken their arts programs from one that needs improvement to a model school. With support from administration and the school board, Paramus High School has developed highly successful culinary arts, fashion, woodworking, music and graphic arts programs that are resulting in exciting careers for their students.

News From Our Partners!

  • The National Gallery of Art is proud to offer a variety of teaching packets, guides and DVDs to individuals and institutions alike in order to encourage the exploration of our nation’s permanent collection by audiences who may be unable to visit the gallery in person. These programs are offered free of charge to art educators. Through the affiliate loan program these resources can be made available to an institution (such as a school district) for a long-term loan for their circulation to the community. Details on the National Gallery Education program can be found here: https://www.nga.gov/education.html and questions can be directed to Lily Abt, the Affiliate Loan Coordinator, at 202-842-6269 or by email [email protected]

About the Arts Ed NJ
Arts Ed NJ is the unified voice for arts education in New Jersey. Arts Ed NJ (previously the New Jersey Arts Education Partnership) was originally founded in 2007 as a cosponsored program of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, with additional support from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, New Jersey Department of Education and Music for All Foundation. Additional support has been provided by the Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation, ArtPride New Jersey Foundation and an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
