We're proud to introduce our newest program, "Seeing The World Through Digital Media" at Lincoln Park Apartments in Newark, NJ. Nine children ages 7-12 are learning the art of filmmaking with our Teaching Artist JC Cotti. Over the course of the semester the children will write, act in, film, and edit a short film using JVC HD flip cameras and Final Cut Pro editing software.

JC is working with the students to hone skills such as acting for the camera, improvisation, mime, storytelling, and camerawork. Each class begins with fun exercises such as improvement games where we see even the shyest children participating; then they shoot scenes for their film, a zombie-themed comedy that the children developed and wrote themselves. The students rotate roles every few minutes so that everyone has a chance to work both in front of and behind the camera. Each week the students come to class excited and ready to film!

Over 1,100 supporters of youth-serving nonprofits packed the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria on November 19th for A Celebration to Benefit New York Kids. ATG was honored along with 14 other youth-serving organizations who are all working to improve the lives of less-advantaged children in the New York metro area. Now in the second year of receiving Youth I.N.C.'s Celebration Service Grant, we are thrilled to report that this year we've exceeded our fundraising goal, reaching 160+% and raising over $60,000!

A huge thank you to our Co-Chairs whose advocacy, hard work and personal commitment has forged expanded engagement of corporate leaders and individuals whose investments will directly support opportunities for dozens more children to learn and grow in our arts learning programs in 2014.

We are also honored to announce that ATG has been chosen as the sole Celebration partner to receive an award at Youth, I.N.C.'s 3rd Annual Innovators Breakfast hosted by Bloomberg LLP on January 24th, 2014.
