Outdoor Family Fun This Friday Starts at 6:30

Join the fun this Friday evening, July 18, at Impett Park, 3207 West 153rd Street, home of Asphalt Cinema. Our featured film is Despicable Me 2.

Along the main walkway, local merchants and non profit organizations provide games with prizes at 6:30 p.m. Then, our "Master Fun Facilitator" is on by 7:30 p.m. to engage everyone in learning a new dance step, keeping the beat with a rhythmic instrument, singing songs, painting self-portraits or characters from the film, and staying active, while the sky darkens for the outdoor movie.

Increased Produce Screams Summer at Our Farmers Market, Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Now that summer is well underway, additional produce vendors are rolling into Kamm's Corners Farmers Market. This Sunday, joining us will be Kaskey Farms in Kingsville, Ohio, situated in Ashtabula County on 75 acres. It is a family farm, bringing produce farm to table within hours of being harvested.  And, Knoble Farms in Avon, Ohio, joins us, specializing in tomatoes, peppers, sweet corn, and melons. May's Produce will also be bringing sweet corn this Sunday, picked that morning along with many kinds of produce fresh from the ground. How about loading up on fresh fruit from Smith's Fruit Farm from Geneva, Ohio? These vendors and others will be waiting for you! Stop by the market to see what they're offering -- fresh from the fields!

Musical entertainment by Jody Getz & Friends, features blues, folk, pop, and original music, some in 3-part harmony. West Park Massotherapy offers chair massages at $1 a minute. Priority Home Health Care checks your blood pressure at no charge. Art presented by Crafty Friends features Kumihimo style woven jewelry and handmade cards. WIC accepted.

Two Neighborhood Visioning Meetings Scheduled for Residents to Help Shape West Park's Future

Kamm's Corners Development Corporation (KCDC) and Bellaire-Puritas Development Corporation (BPDC) serve the western and eastern areas of the West Park neighborhood respectively. Recent changes to ward boundaries have expanded KCDC's service area into areas formerly served by BPDC, and BPDC has expanded its service area further east, introducing new and different challenges to both organizations.

Please participate in a Neighborhood Visioning Meeting, as an opportunity for West Park residents to shape the future of this historic neighborhood through the collaborative work of these community development corporations.
