Dear Friend,
Starting October 1, 2014 there will be changes to everyone's Social Security Income (SSI) payment.
This change is occurring because New York State has decided to pay its State money directly to the person receiving SSI benefits.
Beginning October 1, your SSI payment will consist ONLY of Federal money with no State money included in the amount. Before October 2014, your SSI consisted of both State and Federal money.
As long as you are eligible for both Federal and State payments, you will get a payment from SSI and a separate payment from New York State. New York State will contact you about paying the State money.
The most SSI will pay is $721 and it will be sent to your bank or financial institution on or around the first day of October 2014.
If you have any questions about the changes in your State payment please call the New York State SSP Customer Support Center at 1-855-488-0541.

Please share this information with anyone who receives SSI and those who do not have access to a computer.
Sincerely,
