Services at Fremont Township

Our office administers general assistance and emergency assistance to residents with financial hardships in Fremont Township.

Our food pantry serves over 1000 people a year and we have a wonderful vegetable garden run by Fremont Township Resident Alicia Dodd and many volunteers. This provides fresh produce to our low income seniors and neighbors in need. The garden is harvested on Tuesdays.  Residents in need can call or stop by to see if there is a harvest.

Thanks to our generous donors, we receive beef, pork and lamb from the Lake County Fair livestock auction.  We appreciate the food drives throughout the year by local schools, churches, businesses, neighborhoods, Scout Troops, the Post Office, Park on Park and the annual Grand Dominion Car Show. We also are thankful to the residents we see daily who drop donations at our office.

If you are aware of neighbors in need, please refer them to our office.  We are the only  local government agency that provides these services, resources and referrals. They can call us at 847 223-2847.

The event begins with face painting, tie-dye t-shirts, Mundelein Fire Department engine rides, fun activities with Super Target Mundelein, a K-9 Demonstration with Titan and Officer Steven Kroll, a dunk tank and much more. Tony Dogs will be at the event with hot dogs and other snacks for purchase. The Mundelein Police Department will also serve free popcorn and snow cones.

At dark, the Police Department will begin its feature presentation, showing the popular movie “Zootopia” outdoors on a 45-foot screen. Residents are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair and join their neighbors, family, friends, and the Mundelein Police Officers for a fun night.

National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime,” began as an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
