Researchers state that teens need about 9.5 hours of sleep each night. Does your teen get this amount during the school week? I know the answer in my house is a resounding NO.
So, how can we help our teen to balance the demands of life with the need for restorative/recharging sleep? Control what we can control. Create quiet space nearing bed time, discuss how social media and TV watching should end at a certain time prior to bedtime, and cut out the caffeine earlier in the evening.
