VaShawn Mitchell
Six-time Stellar Award-winner and GRAMMY Award-nominated recording artist VaShawn Mitchell soared to the top of the charts in 2010 with his mega-hit single "Nobody Greater," from his top-selling, award-winning album Triumphant. In 2011, Mitchell received 11 Stellar Award nominations, the most nominations received by an artist that year. Billboard magazine declared "Nobody Greater" the #1 Most Played Gospel Song of 2011. VaShawn was named Billboard's #1 Gospel Radio Artist of 2011 and Triumphant was among the Top 5 Gospel Albums of 2011. The single held the #1 position for nine consecutive weeks on Billboard's Hot Gospel Songs chart and crossed-over to the Urban Contemporary Adult charts. Mitchell also received two GRAMMY and two GMA Dove Award nominations for both the album and single.
Now the acclaimed singer-songwriter is back with a new project, Created 4 This, which has spent the last 28 weeks on Billboard's charts with the current hit from it, "Turning Around For Me," resting at its highest position of #7. "I wanted to build on 'Nobody Greater'' and 'Triumphant' to create a new compilation of music to empower and equip people in this economy to understand why we are here and what we are created for," says Mitchell. "The whole message of the album is that we still have hope, that we shall overcome and be victorious, and that God will be there to sustain us in this next phase of our lives." ____________________

Five Simple Steps To File Your Taxes
Does the thought of tax season make you break out in hives? Fear no more! Our easy, step-by-step guide will help you prepare for taxes without even breaking a sweat! Most people dread this time of year because of all the filing and paperwork involved with taxes. Thankfully, it doesn't have to be that way! Preparing for taxes can actually be a simple, no-stress process if you do a little work on the front end. All it takes is some organization and time.
Step 1: Gather Documents
In order to do your taxes, you need to collect all of your tax documents. This includes your W-2s, 1099s, mortgage interest statements and charitable giving receipts. Don't forget any receipts for other deductions like childcare, education costs and home improvements. If in doubt, keep the document or receipt on file until it's tax time. You'll be glad to have these documents on hand in case you discover that you can use them when filing your taxes.

Chris Tomlin - Burning
Q: Your new record Burning Lights (currently #1 on Billboard's charts) is a little bit of a shift for you in sound, obviously. So I wanted you to perhaps explain to people who are longtime listeners to your music, what might they hear that's a little bit different than what you've done in the past? A: I'm excited about where the sound is, but it's not a huge departure. I think what we try to do is keep the songs simple. Q: No matter how long your career lasts, what would you say will always be a part of what you do when you release something?
A: It's always going to be for me songs that are written from the heart of worshiping God: simple, singable songs that can hopefully find their way into the Church and that really help people to worship God and give them a voice to sing. That's just always been it for me. That's the filter I run [songs] through. People hear the finished product and really don't know what went into it and what was knocked off and how many times these songs were re-recorded to really get the guts of it and make you feel it because at the end of the day that's what music does and that's God's gift to us through music. You feel it in your heart and it helps us respond to God with our emotions; it's a beautiful thing. I want people to feel it in their guts when they sing a song like "Crown Him" or "Whom Shall I Fear?" I just want that to come out of their guts. That's what we're trying to do in these songs and really capture the emotion and write them in a way that is singable for people. Click Here For Full Interview

Contemporary Christian & Gospel Music News
Legendary Christian Contemporary artist, evangelist and long-time TBN host and contributor Carman has announced his battle with Myeloma Cancer. He told his fans and supporters via Facebook of his condition on February 14th.
"I have delayed writing this but those of you I call friends and supporters, who have prayed for me and this ministry need to know about this new battle that lies ahead. One week ago I was diagnosed with Myeloma Cancer. It is incurable and I've been given a 3-4 year window of time. Tomorrow I go in for my first bone biopsy and the process will start." Carman has 15 gold and platinum CD/DVDs including CCM mega-hits like "Sunday's on the Way", "The Champion" and "Revival in the Land"."Anthems of a Champion". He was awarded the first "Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year" by Billboard magazine in 1980. On January 22nd of this year Carman released his most recent album, "Anthem of a Champion." In 1984, we brought Carman in to perform at the opening weekend at White Water Park," said Don Stone, former GM of Love 86, WAEC. Beth Lauria, then known as Beth Bailey, picked him up at the airport and drove him to the park. Whiteheart had just opened and neighbors across I-75 were complaining about the noise. Police showed up threatening to shut the park down if they didn't turn the volume down. Carman graciously volunteered to do his set accoustically and hit went great, saving the day. His "Sunday's On The Way," was the most requested song of that year on the station. In his Facebook post, Carman told fans he would continue to minister and play shows and urged fans to come so in his last days and years he could meet as many of them as possible. "My life has always been about ministry. I have a call of God to touch lives with the gospel of Jesus Christ and that's what I will do until the Lord calls me home."
