Greetings!
Every year, Camp Whitsett serves thousands of youths and adults. For over 65 years Camp Whitsett has impacted hundreds if not thousands of lives - young boys have learned to be men; leaders have been spawned; fears have been concurred; and countless memories have been created. Truly it's a place that evokes feelings of contentment, cheer, camaraderie, pride, escape and of being home. And so, it is with pride that the Friends of Camp Whitsett to help Camp Whitsett celebrate another wonder year of help young men develop. Whether you are a current staff member, staff alumni, former camper, or a supporter please plan to join us on this extraordinary weekend at Camp Whitsett along with your friends and family. The Reunion and Family weekend is not just a weekend of camping, fun activities, memorable adventures, and fellowship. It is also our opportunity to make a difference by supporting the camp's many programs. Last summer the FOCW worked to support the waterfront program. This summer as part of the Reunion weekend we will help the camp and the council dedicate the new Lifeguard Tower to our brother Samuel Lawrence. Our weekend is currently scheduled to include canoeing, kayaking, sailing, rifle, shotgun, archery, mountain bike rides, and of course the Camp Whitsett COPE course. The Friends of Camp Whitsett will host several special events over the weekend including an exclusive benefactor reception, a Saturday night steak dinner, the live auction, and voting for the new bylaws and new board members. We hope you will be able to join us at Camp Whitsett for this weekend of family fun, and help us celebrate the camp and the staff. |
