The annual Native Youth Leadership, Athletic and Adventure Academy will happen between June 22 - 25, 2015, in Portland, Oregon on the beautiful campus of Lewis and Clark College. Native youth who are on a good path, want to learn more about leadership, experience outdoor and traditional fitness are encouraged to attend.
The purpose of the Academy is to combine leadership development opportunities as well as specific athletic skill development for Native Youth between 12 and 18. Several outings will be planned for youth to explore the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. Student to adult chaperone ratio is 5 to 1.
Youth and adult chaperones attending will be kept busy from sun up until late at night by engaging in workshops, traditional games, activities and field trips. The training staff are all-Native, representing a variety of tribes, generations and experiences.
The program will begin by 3pm on the 22nd and conclude by 3pm on the 25th. Once youth groups are registered a confirmation packet will be sent with directions, what to bring, respect pledge and agenda.
