Audi Stuart Air Show:
Gearing up for the 2018 show

Preparations for the 29th Annual Audi Stuart Air Show are well underway. Dates for this year's show are November 2 - 4, 2018.

Once again, the show promises thrilling aerobatic performances that will be sure to excite audiences young and old. Already confirmed to perform is the US Airforce F-16 Demo Team. Also confirmed are fan-favorites Phillip 66 AeroStars, Rob Holland, Matt Younkin, Bob Carlton, and Cheffpitts Airshows. New performers include Kyle Franklin with a Dracula Solo Bi-Plane, Vampire Airshows, and the Class of 45, an act that incorporates a Corsair and P-51 Mustang.

In preparation for another successful air show, event organizers have announced their newly reorganized Board of Directors. Amy Bottegal, with CenterState Bank, has been named President of the Board. Bottegal has over a decade of leadership experience with the air show overseeing a multitude of key areas of the event. She has served on the Board since 2016, most recently in the position as Vice President. This marks the first time in the show's 29 year history that a woman has been named Board President.

Dewey Vinaya, with Clean Slate Inspections, LLC., has been named Vice President. Vinaya first became involved with the air show in 2012 as a performer with the US Army's elite Black Daggers parachute team. Vinaya retired from the Army in 2015 after serving 23 years. Vinaya will also be serving as Air Operations Coordinator and acting as a military liaison to secure additional military acts and static displays for the air show.

Chuck Cleaver, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Martin Health System, will continue in his role as Board Treasurer. Cleaver has been involved with the air show since the 1990's.   In addition to the air show, Cleaver is actively involved in several community organizations including the United Way of Martin County Foundation, Council on Aging of Martin County, the Friends of Volunteers in Medicine Clinic and the Library Foundation of Martin County.

Doug Davis, owner of D-R-D Technical Solutions, Inc. in Stuart, FL will serve as Board Secretary. Davis has been involved with the air show since 2004 and has been a member of the organization's Board of Directors since 2013. With an extensive background in engineering, Davis also coordinates the logistical site maps for the show.

Renewing their service as members of the Board of Directors are Nick Blount and Desiree Bonnie. Blount has been involved as a member of the air show's Board of Directors since 2015. Retired from Florida Power & Light, Blount has been actively involved with a number of organizations throughout the Treasure Coast, including the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce, Indiantown Chamber of Commerce, Palm City Chamber of Commerce, Martin County Red Cross, United Way of Martin County, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Indian River, St. Lucie and Okeechobee Counties. He is also active with the United Way of Okeechobee, First United Methodist Church, University of Tennessee Alumni Association and most recently became a commissioner for the City of Stuart.

Desiree Bonnie is a local Realtor with RE/MAX of Stuart. A resident of Martin County for over 36 years, Bonnie has a great knowledge of this community. After being the air show's event organization from 2010-2015, Bonnie has remained involved with the show as a member of the Key Leader Committee, assisting with Ground Operations of the show and serving as a member of the Board of Directors.

Also returning is Susan Cunnane as Executive Director. Cunnane joined the team as a volunteer at the 2015 show and was hooked. She assumed the role of director for the 2016 show and last year led the organization to the most successful year to date.
"It's an honor to work with such a committed group of volunteer Board members," said Amy Bottegal, President. "I don't think people realize that year-long commitment it takes to organize a safe and exciting air show for this community.  Our air show is recognized as one of the top shows in the nation. We're excited to maintain this high standard for the 2018 show."

The Audi Stuart Air Show will be held November 2-4 at Martin County Airport - Witham Field. The three-day event will feature thrilling performances by nationally recognized military and civilian performers as well as captivating static displays.
