This Weekend

Preaching this Sunday
This Sunday, Pastor Chris will preach and his sermon title will be "Caring" based on scripture found in Job 2:11-13 and Hebrews 2:14-15.

Upcoming Events

Save the Date!   September 19th - Wayland Community Art Fair
     .... a Local Outreach Opportunity!

On Saturday, September 19th, our friends from ArtsWayland will be hosting a community fair that celebrates arts and culture in Wayland, and it's happening in the field right behind our church!  As we respond to God's call for his people to show God's love by active participation in local outreach, we want to mobilize the entire church to serve the Wayland community by volunteering at the fair.

There are specific needs that will need volunteers:
- Help with parking
- Help serve/sell food
- Help with setup/take down exhibit canopies/displays (currently have 35 exhibit booths scheduled)
- Help with Kid's Corner: Arts & Crafts/type activities: Face Painting, spin-art, etc.

TCC will also have its own booth which will feature live music and display art work from TCC artists. If you are interested, contact Adam Kurihara at  [email protected].

We also plan to welcome the community by opening our building so they may come in to use the restrooms, have a spot to cool down, or allow place for nursing mothers.  Whether you are an artist or not, there will be plenty of ways to get involved and show the community that TCC cares!  More information and volunteer sign-ups will be available this Sunday.

The Teddy Sayonkon Foundation (TSF)

The Teddy Sayonkon Foundation (TSF) is dedicated to providing school supplies, shoes, clothing, and scholarships for needy children in Liberia, an African country that has been devastated by a civil war and an Ebola outbreak. Supplies are personally distributed by Teddy and delivered with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. In 2015, he plans to return with barrels loaded with donated supplies and sporting goods recently received as a major contribution from Boston based New Balance. Financial contributions help pay for shipping costs, airfare, and scholarship aid to young students who would not be able to attend school without it. The Foundation is the humanitarian and evangelical outreach of Liberian native Teddy Sayonkon, partnering with Trinitarian and generous individuals.

If you wish to support Teddy's work with a monetary contribution, please make checks out directly to "The Teddy Sayonkon Foundation". (Donations are not deductible for IRS reporting purposes at this time.) For more information, please contact Teddy directly at 978-761-5239 or [email protected].

Awana Help Needed
Did you know there is an exciting youth ministry on Friday nights from Sept to May reaching 60-70 kids from 3-15 yrs old with the Gospel of Christ?  It's called Awana. The Awana Club meets roughly 3 out of 4 Friday nights per month from Sept 18th through May 13th from 6:30 to 8:15P at the First Baptist Church of Sudbury.
Awana is an international Christian youth program with the goal of reaching boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and training them to serve Him.  The program uses Scripture memorization, games, community service, and relationship-building with other kids.  Fun lessons with Biblical principles are presented each week.  Special theme nights and fun events are planned throughout the year.
So for next year, we're seeking your help and hope you will prayerfully consider being part of the team.  If you have a heart for reaching MetroWest youth with the Gospel of Christ and are interested in serving as a greatly-needed director or leader, please contact Steve and Lina Demers at [email protected] or at 508-251-0018

Volunteer Opportunities

TCC runs on volunteers! Please visit the TCC "How to Serve" webpage at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php for more information.   Here are a few current opportunities:

Additional Ushers Still Needed...

Our mission:  To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed: Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience to come. You are representatives of God's kingdom.  You're not just opening doors, providing information, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering, you are making people feel welcome!

Could you help 1 Sunday morning a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] or 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed ...

Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks for deposit) each Sunday, and we are in need of new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at [email protected] or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help us.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!

If you enjoy having a cup of coffee while chatting with others after Sunday service, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour! Currently, no one is signed up.

You don't even have to provide snacks - just make, set up and then clean up the coffee and tea! (Easy instructions provided - click here to see what is involved!)

Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members. Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday or contact the church office.

The TCC Food Pantry (Loaves & Fishes) offers assistance to those of TCC and the surrounding community who need help providing for themselves and their family. If you are in need, please feel free to visit the church office for assistance from the food pantry. The food pantry is open on Sunday mornings or during regular church office hours.

We gratefully accept donations to the TCC "Loaves & Fishes" Food Pantry. Please find the collection bin on a table near the lobby stairwell. We only accept donations of non-perishable food and personal items.

WE RESPECTFULLY ASK YOU NOT TO DONATE ANY OPEN OR EXPIRED ITEMS - WE JUST HAVE TO THROW THEM AWAY!

TOP ITEMS NEEDED:

Shaving Cream
Razors
Laundry Detergent
Salad Dressings
Bottled Juices
Coffee
Paper and plastic shopping bags

If you have any questions regarding donations, contact Diane or David Newcomb at [email protected]  or [email protected]
