Skyping With Aunt Katie

Skype has been our friend as we've moved away from family that we used to see all the time!  This is Lindsey's sister Katie (look familiar?) Pray for her too as she's just moved off the college!
Prayer Concerns:
-Silas and Savannah as they adjust to the newness.

-Our extended families as they adjust.

-Chris as he seeks to be a godly man of integrity and a leader in the Kingdom.

-Chris and Lindsey in their marriage as they seek to serve together.

-That we will be wise with finances.

-That we would be spiritually disciplined daily!!!

- Opportunities to reach lost people with Jesus.

Thanks so much for your prayers!

Greetings!

Hey guys, we bring you greetings from the Queen City. (If you didn't know, that's Charlotte NC's nickname. I guess that's what other cities call her when they're hanging out.) The Woolard family is all moved in to our new house in Kannapolis (outside of Charlotte) and we are getting into the swing of things. You know, the normal: visiting the local library, meeting the neighbors, meeting new church family, all that jazz. It's been great. Silas and Savannah are loving that they have their own rooms for the first time and Lindsey and I were stoked to learn that our neighbors are super people. Tonight, one of them brought us a chicken pot pie! Mmmmm.

God has truly been with us through all of the prep work to move.

Finances: Here's the GREAT news!

If you'll recall, in our last letter I shared that we would be raising 100% of our living expenses for this 12 month period. Our goal was $50,000. As of July 12th we had collected a little over $15,000 in pledges and up front gifts. With our last letter we asked for prayer and encouraged others to partner with us financially.

We now have 35 individuals and families as well as 2 organizations partnering with us ! Your gifts and pledges have helped us reach 100% support!! Do you have any idea how amazing this is?!?! God has used YOU to help in kingdom work in an incredible way. In roughly six weeks of fund raising God has used your generosity in economically miraculous ways.

We are extremely humbled and grateful. So many of you are sacrificially sharing with our family and we give God all the glory!

What is Chris Doing?

Many of you may be wondering, "What is Chris doing out there in Charlotte?" Well, here's a snapshot. My title at Kinetic is "Leadership Resident." I'm a full-time staff member whose job is to work at the church, learn under the guidance of the staff and leadership and gain a broad bit of experience of what it's like to be a part of a church plant. Kinetic is 6 years old and still a mobile church (i.e. they set up and take down their "church facility" each Sunday in a local high school). I will be given the lead or co-lead role in a variety of ministries at Kinetic over the course of this year. Getting an opportunity to work with their Frontline (greeting and hospitality) team, production team, Kinetic Kids, etc. I will also be trying to build a small group that I will lead as well as share some of the preaching responsibilities with Dave. In addition to that I will serve on the staff in the ways that I have at other churches, simply being one of the guys on the team and "doing my thing" with the help of the gifts God has given me.

Last week I preached for both services on the will of God, sharing some of my journey finding and riding the wave of God's mercy. This week I'm setting up some meetings and "getting started" kind of stuff.

I came into this thing thinking about how great of an experience it would be for my education but God has laid a deeper layer of purpose on my heart. I will also be able to share the love of Jesus with many of the people He loves here in the Charlotte area. I look forward to discipling people, teaching them, and sharing life with them over this next year.

Family Update

When you ask people about their kids, one of the most common phrases you hear is "they're growing up so fast!" We're no exception. This is a season of birthdays for the Woolard kids. Our "baby girl" is no such thing these days. This month we celebrated her 2nd birthday! She's talking up a storm and into everything. She loves her family, especially her big brother!

Silas turns 5 in September and just started kindergarden today! Wow. He's learning to read small words and learned to swim this summer. He's a big fan of Star Wars, the Dallas Cowboys, ECU football, and rockin music. He's always building and imagining some grand place to play in.

Lindsey is loving all of the friends we are making in Charlotte and is really excited to be a homeschooling mom this year.

Stay up to date on the happenings of our life via Facebook and through the photo blog that Lindsey is updating at http://woolardfamilyadventures.shutterfly.com/

Join Our Team:   We are still seeking committed friends to partner with us in this endeavor. Though we have raised our salary for the leadership residency at Kinetic Church, we are only just beginning this mission. After a year in Charlotte we'll be headed off to plant a church and there are still many ways you can partner with us in this kingdom work. If you are interested in becoming a partner, please consider these three options as a start.
  • Become a prayer partner!  It is the most powerful way you can contribute to the spiritual needs of our ministry. You'll find a prayer list in the left column.
  • Become a monthly/regular financial partner. At this point, all funds raised will be filtered to the "church plant" phase of our mission and we are still looking for 3 year partners for fall 2012-Fall 2015. You would not believe the impact your monthly $25, $50, $100, or more means to a family living on the support of other believers. A sacrificial gift is one that comes with so many blessings. If you are interested in being a partner in the church planting phase and want to front load our funds at this time please contact us!
  • Consider a special gift.  Even if you cannot commit to a regular contribution, your one time gifts will go a long way in strengthening the financial end of our ministry. As with the the monthly partners (above) all of these funds will go into the church plant phase
If you are interested in any of these options please contact us with your intentions at chris.woolard@gmail.com or  Kinetic Church P.O. Box 620908 Charlotte NC 28262

You can also give online here. Be sure to select "Chris Woolard" from the "to" menu.

*a special note for transparency and accountability. All of our funds are currently being handled by Kinetic Church's accountant. But 100% of your gifts will go to the ministry that the Woolard family is doing.

Thanks so much for your love and support. Please stay in touch and let us know if we can serve you in any way.

In His Service,

Chris, Lindsey, Silas, and Savannah Woolard
