Reminiscent of a pinot grigio or an un-oaked chardonnay, the Trebbiano is a light bodied, off-dry, crowd pleaser with the delicate flavors of pear, and apple. This mellow lightly fruity white has a hint of minerality. Its crisp clean finish makes it an "easy to drink" wine that can be had alone or chilled on a hot summer day, and yet, compliments any meal.

So I was roasting some corn the other day for a party and I just happened to be drinking Trebbiano. It was a great pairing. So, I got to thinking, what else could I put with this. I had some fried oysters last
week and got to thinking that would be a fun combination. So I played around with it a little bit, that is one of the best parts of my job, and here is the result. I hope you enjoy it.

All stainless steel fermentation allows the true character of the chardonnay grape to shine. Crisp green apple with a mild buttery finish, this chardonnay is a gem of Italian chardonnays.

As we enter September and hopefully the last month of really hot weather, I thought a light salad and some shrimp cooked on the grill would be a great way to close out the summer. A light lemon vinaigrette is quick and easy and allows the shrimp to showcase themselves. Kalamata olives add a touch of briny flavor. Roasted red peppers and red onions add a touch of sweetness. Some quartered
artichoke hearts round out the salad for a great, low calorie, high fiber meal.

Did You Know?

In Vietnam, it's possible to order a cobra blood wine from restaurant menus. The waiter will take a live cobra, kill it on the spot, drain the blood into a shot glass of rice wine, and top it off with the cobra's still beating heart for you to gulp down.
