Program on Cannabis Therapeutics Held

On July 14th over 45 guests attended an educational program featuring Josephine Canella-Krehl, LCSW, who provided a two hour interactive workshop on Cannabis Therapeutics, currently a hot topic in cancer care.

She presented an unbiased overview of the medical evidence available that indicates how cannabis works on the brain in order to be helpful with the following symptoms in cancer patients: nausea, appetite, mood, pain management and insomnia.  Cannabis may also prevent the development of neuropathic pain (Neuropathy), a common side effect of chemotherapy.

The speaker also took time to address current laws in the State of Florida, including what bills are pending in the Florida legislature, and where attendees could go for more information.
