Mid Coast Connect is a not-for-profit organisation striving to assist young people with their
transition from school into further education, training or employment.
School Leaver Support Program
The ongoing partnership between Mid Coast Connect and Wauchope TAFE is continuing to provide local students with a non-traditional pathway to education, employment and training. The Certificate II in Skills for Work and Training course is delivered over 14-weeks with students receiving training in the Information Technology, Construction and Automotive industries. The students, supported by Wauchope High School and Mid Coast Connect, also receive additional learning from the Foundation Skills Training Package as part of the School Leaver Support Program.

The School Leaver Support program is a career planning and work readiness program designed to support young people who are not currently studying or working to help them to enter education, training and employment. Mid Coast Connect delivers the program through the Regional VET Pathways initiative, funded by the NSW Department of Industry, Skills and Regional Development.
Apprenticeship Success: Australian Rail Technology
Congratulations to local student Jacob Parker on securing an apprenticeship in the Taree office of Australian Rail Technology. Jacob completed work experience with Australian Rail Technology earlier this year, and Electronics Engineering Manager Paul Boere was so impressed that he sought to appoint Jacob as an apprentice as soon as practical.

During his apprenticeship, Jacob will complete a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications and learn about the design and manufacture of custom electronic, mechanical and electromechanical equipment for the rail industry. Mid Coast Connect's Training Coordinator Allan Campbell will mentor and support Jacob throughout his apprenticeship.
It always seems impossible until it's done.
