"The Catalyst"
August 2016
Ready or not . . . It's that time and school has started whether it's your first year, your last year or somewhere in between! There are so many needs and prayer is a wonderful way to bless the administrators, teachers, support staff and students! Please remember to pray for them and encourage them regularly!

Executive Director's Corner
I have heard several messages on the Second Coming of Jesus lately. I could say many things as a result of those messages, but a couple of things stand out: (1) Nobody knows when He is coming and
(2) The key is to be ready for His coming. I hope that you are aware of how sudden it can happen and most importantly, that you are prepared. New Testament writers were expecting His return in their day and we need to be expecting it in our day. Don't put it off; make your preparation today if you haven't already.

The Comfort of Christ's Coming
13 "We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. 14 Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. 15 For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord's coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel's voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore, encourage one another with these words ."   I Thessalonians 4:13 - 18 (HCSB)

We have received a lot of great reports from Vacation Bible Schools and from Summer Mission projects. It's great to be a Rankin County Baptist and to see and hear the wonderful things that God is doing through you and our great churches.
