Meet the Foundation's New Executive Director
My name is Meaghan Sullivan, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Executive Director for the Foundation for Douglas County Schools.

Amazing things are happening every day within Douglas County Schools and it is my great honor to join the dedicated board and talented staff at the Foundation to support this success. Providing the top-notch educational opportunities Douglas County School District is known for requires the support of a village of people from business leaders to community leaders to donors, families, and parents. Working together with our community, the Foundation will explore challenges and focus resources where they can make the biggest difference for our students. We will spotlight the people, practices, and ideas that are driving innovation. We invite you to join us in our mission as the Foundation evolves to better support our students and build a bright and impactful future.

Partner Highlight: Fit36 - Highlands Ranch
Foundation partner, FIT36, hosted three days of field trips for Cougar Run 5th graders last Spring. Students were learning about heart health in class and visited FIT36-Highlands Ranch for a fun AND educational workout! The kids had a great discussion about heart health with Trainer Lisa, who explained how heart rate monitoring works to target your heart rate so you can see when to push and when to breathe. Results of the workout are displayed on four TV screens inside the gym while you work out.  After the workout, students enjoyed a healthy snack at Whole Foods and walked back to school. If your school is interested in hosting a field trip to FIT36, please contact them here

FIT36 specializes in adult group HIIT training. They have locatio ns in Highlands Ranch and Parker.
