To say we are excited about this event would be an understatement. This is going to be, by far, the best event we have put together yet! We have an exceptional list of guest speakers, sales representatives, and FREE merchandise to give away! Here are a few of the highlights:
Lake Lanier Guide and Rainy's Signature
Tier, Kevin Arculeo of "Arculeo's Action
Flies and Guide Service"
will be on hand throughout the event demonstrating his bead chain and foam flies.
Kevin's professional guiding experience spans more than 16 years along with personal fishing
skills developed since his childhood. Kevin guides north of Atlanta on Lake Sidney Lanier for
striped bass and spotted bass. He has also guided on the Chattahoochee River for trout and
several trout streams in North Georgia
. As an accomplished fly caster and instructor, Kevin
is often called upon to teach fly tying and casting for adults and children. He also conducts fly
fishing presentations and seminars at trade shows and organizations. Several of his flies and
instruction on how to tie them have been published -- including a feature article in
Saltwater
Fly Fishing
magazine. Most recently, Kevin became a Professional Fly Designer for Rainy's
Flies and Supplies.
Kevin has also donated a half day guided striper trip for two anglers which will be given away during our raffle.
Henry Cowen of "Cowen's Quality Flies and Guide Service" will be presenting "Lanier Stripers - A New Season Begins". Hen
ry's program will begin at 10:30 am and will last roughly one hour. Henry has guided on Lanier for seventeen years, and specializes in guided fly and light tackle trips for striped bass. During his time on Lanier, Henry has developed quite the reputation among his fellow guides as well as in the fly fishing industry. He is a fly designer for Umpqua Feather Merchants, and his patterns are some of the most effective fly patterns for freshwater stripers. Henry's fly, the Somethin' Else, is our go to fly for targeting stripers when they are on small threadfin shad. His personality is contagious, and his knowledge of striper fishing is unmatched. Henry has donated one dozen of his hand tied Lanier striper flies, which will be given away during the raffle.
Jackson Dockery of Unicoi Outfitters will be giving a on-stream demonstration on how to effectively fish streamer patterns during the fall and winter. Program will begin at 11:30 and last roughly one hour. Please RSVP for this demo.
Southeast sales representative, Ben Austin, will be here throughout the entire event with all of the Orvis and Scientific Anglers goodies, including the new Orvis Helios 3 rods. You really owe it to yourself to put one of these new H3 rods in your hand for a test drive. This rod was one of our favorite items at ICAST. This rod is extremely smooth, and deadly accurate. We may even have some of the brand new Helios 3 rods available for purchase...
Jimmy Dobes of Simms Fishing Products will be posted up in the parking lot with the Simms RV. If you haven't seen this rig, you are really missing out! The RV has all the Simms products aboard, and Jimmy will be selling sales samples at a steep discount! Come get incredible deals on new Simms Items. We would suggest coming early, as these products will go fast! All sales samples will include a size large, or a size 11 shoe, but there will be packs and bags in the mix as well.
Paul Puckett with Flood Tide Apparel will be here with the Flood Tide Wagon. These clothing products look good both on the water as well as off. All of the pieces tell a story that lets fly your colors in all atmospheres. Items will be for sale during the event.
