You're invited to the
Park Cities/Central Dallas Democrats
August 5th Meeting Featuring
Rita Beving, Outreach Coordinator for
The Clean Water Fund and Clean Water Action
Park Cities/Central Dallas Democrats

Since our state and national governments are working for environmental destroyers, we need to be on alert for calls to action to prevent and remedy damage.

Park Cities/Central Dallas Democrats welcome Rita Beving, environmentalist extraordinaire, as our August 5th speaker.  Rita is the North Texas Outreach Coordinator for Clean Water Fund and Clean Water Action as well as a front-line representative for the Sierra Club's Lone Star Chapter.

In her more than 20 years of activism, Rita has fought to preserve mature trees from cutting blades, fought TXI cement kiln permits for burning hazardous waste, fought a cement and debris landfill in McKinney, and fought alongside East Texans to prevent the creation of the Marvin Nichols Reservoir. (She's a regular Raquel Balboa of environmental activism!)

Most recently, Rita has been working to prevent the Texas Legislature from doing more environmental harm. Even in the special session, now doing its worst, she has sent information to her many online followers, alerting them (us!) to visit, call, or email our legislators in opposition to bills that further degrade our environment.

Come find out what's happening and what we can do about it.
