Asphalt Cinema Features Safety Fair

On Friday, August 19, a City of Cleveland Safety Fair will take place starting at 6:30 p.m. in the area adjacent to the parking lot  at Impett Park, 3207 West 153rd Street. Meet first-hand with law enforcement agency representatives. Walk through the smoke house and get up close and personal with a fire truck, motorcycle, and bomb squad truck. Pick up giveaways and information from city departments.

In addition to children's games provided by local merchants, there will be art activities. And everyone will be invited to dance and sing with the help of a DJ starting at 7:30 p.m. Draw characters from the featured film and win a prize. In addition, there will be hair chalking, balloon creatures, raffles, and BOGO cards from Chipotle (while supplies last). Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for an evening that ends under the stars with the movie Zootopia at dusk.

Beverages, hot dogs, and popcorn will be available for purchase from West Denison Baseball League. The film and fun activities are FREE of charge thanks to our Asphalt Cinema sponsor, Fairview Hospital along with a grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.

Warren Road Reconstruction Update

The Ohio Department Of Transportation has confirmed that Warren Road will remain one way north bound for the duration of the road construction project, now scheduled to be completed by October 14, possibly earlier. Construction at the McKinley exit of I-90 is nearly complete, so motorists entering West Park will soon be able to use that exit or West 140th Street.

St. Pat's Benefit Cruise-In & Ice Cream Social Returns for 3rd Time

Join the fun Wednesday evening, August 3, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the parking lot of St. Pat's West Park, 4427 Rocky River Drive. Walk from home or park in the lots at Rocky River Drive and Puritas Avenue of Family Dollar or Garden Grill. Permission has been granted for that evening's event, but please leave the spaces closest to the door for customers. Parking is also available at Chambers Funeral Home across from the church if no wake is taking place

Featuring Weber's premium custard and ice cream, the event offers hot dogs, hamburgers, baked sale goods, and more! Music by a DJ and door prizes add to the excitement. There is no charge for spectators. But, to show off a car, a $10 donation is needed -- any make or model. Sponsor trophies and dash plaques will be awarded. The event is presented by Ganley Ford West in cooperation with St. Pat's Holy Name Society.

This year, all proceeds will go to the St. Pat's Hunger Center, which is funded entirely by members of the church. For more information, call Jeff Quinn at 216-402-7621 or email [email protected]. See the flyer here.
