Y-Lose It Enrollment Opens Today with Early-Bird Rate

Join the Lincoln YMCA's weight loss challenge. You will work together with a Wellness Coach (YMCA staff person) and up to 6 team members. Bring your own team or we will put you on a team. 

Through this 13-week weight loss challenge, you will become healthier by setting and working towards realistic and personal goals to make permanent lifestyle changes to last a lifetime. Cash prizes will be awarded to the individual and team that loses the most percentage of body weight within the Lincoln YMCAs.

The Program: 6-week Speed & Agility, a partnership with Lincoln YMCA Youth Sports 

Who Can Participate: Boys & Girls ages 9-14

When: Beginning August 21, 2017, this session meets twice per week on Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm.

The goal of the Speed & Agility program is to teach youth participants skills to help them excel in their respected sport(s):
  • proper running mechanics
  • plyometric skills
  • movement efficiency

Participants will improve speed, quickness and reactive skills, as well as body control, to both assist in injury prevention and aid in proper movement patterning.

Halfsy Training at the Downtown YMCA:
Session Begins this Thursday, August 3--spots still available!
Learn how to run a half marathon or how to run a faster race. This training has been created to help participants train to participate in The Good Life Halfsy on Sunday, October 29, 2017, but is open to anyone. 

Run with participants at your fitness level. This training is designed for all runners. You will receive a training schedule and individual help. This is a positive and encouraging group to train with. Class sessions will include topics on aspects of nutritional, physical and mental training for the half marathon.

For a healthier you, know your numbers. Track your wellness progress with FREE monthly checks of your blood pressure, resting heart rate, body composition and body mass index.

FREE Community Days: Bring your friends!
We're inviting all of Lincoln to join us for FREE Community Days. The Fallbrook YMCA hosts Community Day on the second Friday of the month. The Northeast YMCA hosts Motivation Monday Community Day on the fourth Monday of the month. 

The public is invited to try the facility, machines, weights, Group Exercise classes, basketball, Child Watch (2 hours per child), and indoor pools for free all day. Simply bring a valid photo ID to check-in at the Front Desk.

Fallbrook Youth Triathlon - August 19
The Youth Triathlon route will start and end at the Fallbrook YMCA with the race route throughout the Fallbrook neighborhood. 

Registration Dates:
  • Early: through August 12, 2017
  • Late: August 13-18, 2017

Registration Fees:
  • $15 per participant (Lincoln Y Member or Non-member)

Fallbrook YMCA's 2nd Annual
Cabela's Sand Volleyball Tournament - August 26
This sand volleyball tournament will help raise money for the Annual Campaign-Strong Kids, which helps families enjoy YMCA programming for a discounted rate. 

The tournament will be coed 6 on 6. Each team may have substitute players. The winners will receive a $600 prize, 2nd place--$300 prize, and 3rd place--$100 prize. 

Location of Tournament: Spike' s Beach Bar & Grille (2300 Judson St, Lincoln)

*Participants must be age 15 or older

YMCA Camp Kitaki
Summer 2018 Registration Coming Soon!
YMCA Camp Kitaki has been in full-swing this summer--hosting 10 sessions of excited campers! Camp attendees range in age from 7-17 and embark on a multitude of activities that foster positive self-esteem, friendships, teamwork and self-discovery. 

Carson, an attendee since 2011 shares, "Camp Kitaki has always made a large impact on me, whether it's making new friends, camp traditions or just some of the magic Camp has. Just the energy and the spirit around Camp can make an impact on everyone and I know it has made one on me."

If you haven't had a chance to experience Camp yet, open enrollment online for Summer 2018 begins September 1. Additionally, Camp offers year-round specialty programs and family days so that the fun isn't just limited to the kids.
