ABRI/Homes for the Brave has started off our 2019 fiscal year with some significant challenges, including CT's loss of some Federal funding for Veterans as well as operating for a stretch of July (and perhaps beyond) without air conditioning as elements of our current system may not be repairable. We also heard from some wonderful new and existing friends and supporters, as Kathy Piro and her Forgotten Heroes Golf Classic was again very successful. We are now working vigorously on our signature event, the 4th Annual Step Up for the Brave Stair Climb , which will be held on Saturday morning, September 15, 2018 at the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard. Sponsors are signing up, teams are forming and our very own Board Member Eric Parker, morning anchor of WFSB-Channel 3, will be our MC again this year. August will be an active month with many wonderful visitors, Sikorsky/Lockheed Martin's Home Run for Heroes and a plethora of activities for our residents.
