Mark your calendars for next weekend's 2nd Saturday Artwalk! Max Hayslette will be autographing complimentary posters of one of his latest paintings, Woodland Pond and young classical violinist Claire Turner will be playing. Please join us and all the fine art galleries on Front Street Saturday, August 13th, 5-8pm for a lovely August summer evening of art shopping.

If you can't make it out for Artwalk, there is always the annual Poulsbo Arts Festival at the beautiful waterfront park in downtown Poulsbo the third weekend in August. There will be something for all the family to enjoy - a chidren's art corner, original jewelry, metal, ceramic and wood art, plus demonstrations, music and food. 

And if you need to cool off a bit, come on into the gallery and see Carrie's new work in her encaustic surf series, along with more of the fun watercolor creatures she has been creating.

Your home office symbolizes your career. One of the first things to look at is your desk, which should ideally be in a  command  or  power  position. That is, placed so you can see the door (and what might be in store for you) but not directly in line with the door and with the support of a solid wall behind you, not a window. If space is at a premium and you cannot face the door, set up a mirror so you can still easily see the door (and who is behind you) in the reflection. If your desk must face a wall, another option is to hang art with depth to expand your creative vision.
