Our vision is to have a community where no kittens are born wild on the street, no cat  capable of living in a home is lacking one, and no feral cats are wanting for food, water,  and appropriate care and concern.
SAFCC Trapper Van being put to use

SAFCC has been making great use of its van for large TNR transport missions to ACS. Just in this haul pictured here, our volunteers were able to transport 18 cats to be fixed for free courtesy of the city! Big thanks to our trappers that work tirelessly all year to TNR outdoor and stray cats all over San Antonio. And many thanks to Fumiko Fujimoto, the ACS Community Cat Program Coordinator for her help!

SAFCC meets with Alley Cat Allies

Recently, our SAFCC team had the opportunity to dine and discuss TNR and community cats with part of the  Alley Cat Allies outreach team, Brianna and Diana, who were in town for a convention. Alley Cat Allies is the only national advocacy organization dedicated to protecting and improving cats' lives.

Brianna and Diana were very impressed with SAFCC's programs and, in particular, how our volunteers work tirelessly in their rescue efforts, TNR, and advocacy roles. Lots of good information and success stories were shared! They loved our van!
Adopt a SAFCC cat during Petco's All For Saving Lives adoption event

SAFCC can earn a lifesaving grant for each adoption performed at our Petco locations during the Petco Foundation's All For Saving Lives adoption event on September 10. So, what are you waiting for? Head down to your Petco adoption location and adopt one of our adorable cats or kittens! This is a win-win situation: you adopt a cat and SAFCC gets a much-needed donation to help other community cats! If you can't adopt, please forward this email to anyone you know who has been thinking of adopting a cat.

Our Coalition Cat Adoption Program is in crisis mode.

SAFCC's Coalition Cat Adoption Program (CCAP) is in crisis mode during this prolific kitten season. CCAP has one foster who recently had up to 37 kittens in her home. Pictured left are some of the 14 starving kittens that we pulled from a TNR project. The elderly lady's daughter had called our Helpline in a panic asking for help.

We receive multiple requests to take in kittens every day. We try to pull friendly strays and young kittens from TNR jobs whenever we can. If you can take in some kittens for a few months, please email HERE . If you can't foster, but can DONATE, we thank you! We can only do what we have the resources to support.
Brackenridge Park foster needed

Our friends at the Brackenridge Park Community Cat Project need our help.  Friendly cats are abandoned in the park and the feeders remove them for placement into shelters or homes. Unlike the ferals that live there, these cats do not do well as they may never have lived outside. If you live near the park, or even if you don't - they are looking for someone who can be called upon when these sad situations arise.

The Brack Cat Pack will provide a cage, if needed, food, vet care, etc. You provide the love and security that a scared, abandoned cat needs for usually a short-term period. If interested or would like more info, please contact Carla at [email protected]
National Feral Cat Day

National Feral Cat Day on October 16, is a day to wear your SAFCC t-shirt proudly and talk with at least one person who does not know about us or what we do. Stay tuned for more info on NFCD coming soon!

Block Walk to publicize our bilingual TNR class

Get your sneakers ready and join a crew of SAFCC block walkers. In September, Memorial Library (3222 Culebra Road), will host our bilingual TNR class. The walks will let area residents know about TNR and about the class. We want to have enough walkers to make teams that include at least one Spanish speaker. Walkers will meet at the library to pick up materials and receive block location assignments:
