A Summer of Celebration

Dear Colleagues, 

It is hard to believe that we are already sending out our August newsletter! This month is one of celebration as I look forward to my son's wedding. It is a time of reflection for me as I think about his childhood and this new journey that will begin for him as a husband.  

An important part of milestone celebrations are the memories that are created which then become part of our life stories. MFA is happy to see entrepreneurs helping us digitize these stories for preservation including companies like  MemoryWell and Story Glory. 

We also continue to celebrate the success of this year's 15th Annual Silicon Valley Boomer Venture Summit!

GreatCall Acquired by Best Buy 

Congratulations to MFA client GreatCall for the announcement  that their company has been acquired for $800 million by retail chain Best Buy! 

We recently sat down with David Inns, the CEO of GreatCall, to learn more about how his company successfully taps into the voice of the consumer when creating their products. 

He shared that an important part of their success comes from the input of family caregivers: "The Family Caregiver Council at GreatCall is an influential and important part of the equation. GreatCall created the council to address the fact that there is a lack of awareness and support for family caregiving nationally. Many times, family caregivers find themselves in this role after a crisis and they haven't had the time to fully digest the situation and know where to look for critical resources and support. The Council pulls influential people and bright minds together to drive better awareness to everyday family caregiver consumers."
