The year is certainly not slowing down for American Netball. We have an exciting event coming up in Los Angeles with a great celebrity line up. Be sure to read the exciting news below and get your ticket today.

Our 5 year anniversary is going to be celebrated at the U.S. Open, so make sure you register - whether it be as a player, coach, umpire, scorer, or volunteer. If you're not participating in the Championships however would like to attend the VIP celebratory dinner on Saturday November 9th purchase your ticket at this link. Remember individuals and teams are welcome in the social ladies, competitive ladies and mixed teams.

Be sure to place uniform orders now for the championships, view styles here and get a quote today.

Presidents - please inform your members they are able to apply to be a part of the American All Star team that's going to perform in the arena stadium on Friday evening November 8th. Register here and email back the completed form.

How is Netball America helping members? Well this month due to a fantastic grant we received we were able to send 2 of our members on an all expenses paid trip to Boston to attend a national coaching seminar - so read below.

All clubs are recruiting new and existing players. North Atlanta Netball Association are also recruiting individuals who want to participate as part of the U.S. Open.

NETBALL SOCIAL EVENT IN LOS ANGELES

What an exciting night of entertainment, dinner and drinks!! Featuring 2011's Australia's Got Talent Winner - Jack Vidgen. Not only did his debut album go platinum but he's performed at Caesars Palace to sold out crowds, performed on Hunan TV China and was artist of the week on Brazil radio. He's wowed the crowds at GDay USA LA, New York and Houston Galas and you are in for a treat, he will amaze you with his dulcet tones and warm sincerity.

Joining Jack will be comedian genius Jackie Loeb who is one of today's most hilarious and multi talented stand-up comedians. Having performed at international comedy festivals, appeared on UK and Australian TV most notably a series regular and writer on the award winning series 'Full Frontal', which is Australia's answer to Saturday Night Live.

Throughout the evening you'll be entertained with the music by Stephen Rowe & Band. Stephen is a country music singer/songwriter, signed to Red Rebel Music and his single duet with Australia's Queen of Country Music, Tania Kernaghan "Let's Fall in Love Again" went to the top of Australian Country charts. You will also be fortunate to have the chance to bid on one of Stephen's great art works.

To round off the evening we have a beautiful Puerto Rican actress Brenda Lamberty who will keep us entertained as Emcee throughout the afternoon. Brenda not only loves to make people laugh by being a standup comedian but she also appeared on a webisode with Jason Bateman and is soon appearing in the movie "The Young Kieslowski".

Coach Across America

We are excited to announce the paid coaching positions in Atlanta has now been filled. The appointment of Stacy Ross will see the development of Netball through our youth programs and Opal Hill is appointed as the local Site Supervisor. So congratulations to them both as this will be over 900 hours of coaching work to be given to the community over the next 12 months.

As a result of this appointment they both received a 3 day trip to Boston with all expenses covered to attend the national Coach Across America training. Some of the topics covered were: how to work and deal with children of all social levels and backgrounds; team building aspects; identifying triggers that can set problem children off; creating more informal time for the youth in programs - this allows you to get to know each child and discover hidden talents; to not be too quick to give up on those that present challenges.

Stacy and Opal wanted to provide the following key tip to coaches - You need to coach for the following outcomes: Self Awareness, Positive Identity, Situation Awareness, Social Confidence, Future Focus, Pro-social Connections, Plan B Thinking and Discipline.

COACHING CLINICS

Stacy and Opal have got off to a great running start with the Coach Across America Program by presenting Netball to 300 physical education teachers from Atlanta. Great news is the school district is supportive of our program so now comes the fun in rolling netball out to 300 schools. Well done ladies!!

Netball America coaches and volunteers enjoyed a day of beautiful sunshine in the Bronx on August 10th. Part of our culture is to help the community and in working with the 44th Precinct we were able to get the community as well as the NYPD playing some Netball.

U.S. OPEN OF NETBALL

It really is exciting to be able to host world class Netball events in the USA and the U.S. Open is certainly the one event you don't want to miss this year. We are celebrating our 5 year anniversary so there will be lots of special surprises, and you don't want to miss the Saturday night dinner that's included with your registration.

Whether you're an individual or team wanting to play either in the competitive ladies, social ladies or mixed there is something for everyone.

We aim to make this not only an enjoyable but learning experience for everyone. Clinics for players, coaches and umpires are included; drinks during the tournament; ability to play in a stadium seating arena; transportation to/from hotel; certified athletic trainers and EMT at your disposal; the dinner mentioned above as well as a great goody bag for everyone.

So register today as space is very limited. If you are interested in competing on Friday night as part of the American All Stars team then complete the registration form and email to [email protected].

GOLDEN OLDIES WORLD NETBALL FESTIVAL

Time has just flown by. In just over a month - 600 netball players, family and friends will be descending upon San Diego for this exciting event. We have the opening ceremonies at San Diego Sea World; Netball being played on Monday, Wednesday and Friday October 7, 9 and 11; as well as closing ceremony on an air force base.

We still have space for those living in the US and Canada wanting to play. So email us today. If you are unable to play but still would like to be involved then we have a volunteer position for you!! Also, for those participants registered for the event you receive free admission to the awesome social event in Los Angeles on Sunday September 29th at the Australian Consul Residence.

GET A GIRL GOING IN ATLANTA

A big thank you to all the coaches and volunteers who have been running our GoGirlGo! program across Atlanta during summer. You will be able to see the participants from this program perform a showcase at the U.S. Open on the Friday night.
