NEPA Alliance Annual Dinner

NEPA AllianceNEPA Alliance will be hosting its Annual Dinner on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Hilton Scranton & Conference Center, Scranton, PA.

This year's Keynote speaker will be Denny Corby, Corporate Speaker, Entertainer & Mentalist.  He performs regularly for a variety of corporate clients.

Last year our Annual Dinner was attended by over 350 business and community leaders from around the region reaching a milestone in attendance.  This year's event is sure to be another great networking opportunity.

Is your company considering exporting or seeking to expand its global presence? If you are, meet Pennsylvania's Authorized Trade Representatives (ATRs) at Bringing the World to Northeastern Pennsylvania, NEPA's premier International Business Development event. You will also learn about the business development resources available to your company and network at this unique event.
 
Your international trade partners, ATRs are business consultants located in-country who provide guidance to get your products or services into their respective markets. Pennsylvania businesses are fortunate to have access to one of the largest, most comprehensive state-sponsored export development programs in the U.S. with 15 ATRs covering 51 countries . These consulting services are provided free of charge to Pennsylvania companies through the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development's Office of International Business Development.
 
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required, and space is limited. Meetings will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Businesses can register to meet up to five ATRs (actual meeting schedules will be determined by demand and timing). Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m., and individual half-hour meetings will be scheduled 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Participants will receive an individual meeting schedule prior to the event. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Registration must be received by September 14, 2017.

NEPA Alliance currently has 1,800-2,000 square feet of rentable space available at our office located at 1151 Oak Street in Pittston Township. The office space includes off street parking, shared use of meeting rooms and other common areas. NEPA Alliance has several loan products available for small businesses in Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne Counties.
 
These low cost, low interest loans offer reduced down payments and standard loan term maturities for machinery and equipment, land and building acquisition, construction and renovation.  Loan rates are fixed and generally below the prime lending rate.
 
Eligible businesses include Manufacturers, Industrial, Agriculture/Agribusiness, Hospitality & Tourism Related Enterprises, Recyclers, Day Cares, Computer Related Services, Advanced Technology, and Retail and Service Related Businesses.  Other business sectors may also qualify.

NEPA-BFC NEPA Alliance Business Finance Corporation has Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 loans available for eligible small businesses in Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne Counties.
 
Financing Structure

A bank or other lender finances 50% of the project cost and takes a first lien position on the assets financed. The SBA 504 loan NEPA-BFC Tree finances 40% of the project cost up to $5.5 million and takes a second lien position. The borrower then contributes a down payment of as little as 10%.

Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program Now Open
Application deadline is September 22, 2017
PennDOT is currently accepting competitive applications for funding through the Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program. The application deadline is September 22, 2017.
 
The Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program works to build pedestrian and bicycle facilities, improve access to public transportation, create safe routes to school, preserve historic transportation structures, provide environmental mitigation, and create trails projects that serve a transportation purpose, while promoting safety and mobility. Currently, there are eleven (11) general project categories that are eligible for Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside funding.

Local Technical Assistance Program
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance (NEPA) and PennDOT have partnered to offer the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) training series in the NEPA Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) region, which includes Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Schuylkill Counties, as well as the Lackawanna-Luzerne MPO region and Wayne County.
