VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

ASID LA is looking for students to volunteers for Rocky's Lifetime Achievement Award Celebration on September 26. Volunteers will be granted complimentary entry to the event. If you are interested, please email Eleanor Schrader at eleanorschrader@roadrunner.com .
1st Prize: $10,000
2nd Prize: $7,500
3rd Prize: $5,000
2 Honorable Mentions: $3,000 each

Entries should be class projects-commercial or residential-that show your ability to create innovative concepts, space plan, furnish and decorate.

Submissions should be two-dimensional presentations only.

Date of design presentations is to be determined, but will most likely be early September.

This competition is being held as part of the Rocky LaFleur Lifetime Achievement Award Celebration on September 26. Winning scholarships will be awarded at the Celebration.

Now that we have completed the fundraising portion of our community service project with PATH, we are moving full steam ahead with the design and construction schedules. We will be needing help with everything from picking finishing touches up at Target and delivering them to the job site, to painting above where we are planning to lay tile, plus much more!

Executive Director of Facilities and Showroom Design, Walker Zanger.

Kim Bernard, ASID, IIDA, is the Executive Director of Facilities and Showroom Design at Walker Zanger (ceramic, tile, and stone), and has impressively designed and/or remodeled 27 locations to date, including some for their dealers (one location can include 500 floor installations and 300+ vignettes in addition to numerous architectural installations!) We are humbled and excited to be able to spotlight her this month!

Interior Design Assistant in Marina del Ray

Platner & Co, a growing interior design firm based in Marina del Rey, is looking for a part time design assistant with relevant Interior Design experience. The position will be at least 3 days per week and pay is $15-$18/hr. depending on experience. Responsibilities include: shopping PDC and the design district, running errands, creating design boards, order processing on Studio software. Desired computer skills: MS office, Studio Designer (Interior Design program), Photoshop, Illustrator, Gmail, Google Drive, Google sheets & docs. The role also includes support coordinating and mailing memo samples for the Peggy Platner textile collection.
