#DoSomethingGood Movement

Our August Spotlight is barely big enough for all the #DoSomethingGoodness that this guy is spreading through the nation! We recognize our local MTPD Chief Ron Hess for his numerous efforts for the Austin Landing #DoSomethingGood campaign. Chief Hess is pictured above for supporting JoyRide Cars - a car club exclusively for kids with special needs, along with his passion for supporting the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation.

You too can #DoSomethingGood with Chief Hess to support the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation by joining us on our August 3 rd First Friday Food Truck Frenzy. 100% of the ticket and beer proceeds go directly to the foundation. So stop out, grab a bite, and watch the show of the year at Austin Landing while supporting a local cause for our men and women in blue!

Along with all of his community support and fundraising efforts, Chief Hess also knows how to have a little fun too! Check out the video below to see our very own Miami Township PD join in on the viral lip sync challenge that is taking over local law enforcement across the nation!

MTPD National Night Out
"Among Nation’s Best"
Celebration promotes strong police/community relations
The Miami Township Police Department is celebrating its 25th year of participation in National Night Out. The township’s community gatherings rank among the best in the country and this year will be no exception. More than a dozen neighborhood block parties and the second annual community party at Austin Landing are planned for Tuesday, August 7, 2018, beginning at 6 p.m.

National Night Out promotes strong police-community partnerships. It is a chance for neighbors to talk one-on-one with officers about neighborhood concerns. Officers can share crime prevention tips and get to know the people they serve in a relaxed setting. “National Night Out is our way of developing strong relationships with residents,” Capt. John Magill said. “The more we know about each other, the better we can serve the community. By helping each other, we can help prevent crime.”
Public National Night Out Party at Austin Landing!
August 7th | 6pm
Participants at the second annual Austin Landing celebration include the Miami Township branch of the Dayton Metro Library, Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office, the Dayton Police Department’s Honor Guard and SWAT, and the Ohio Police Canine Memorial organization.

Miami Township has one of the top events in the country, ranking fourth in 2017 for a community of its size between 15,000-50,000 residents. Our residents host block parties, cookouts, and park events to name a few. The township hosts its own mega-event at Austin Landing.

Chuy's
We don't take anything seriously, except our food

Tex what? While we refer to our food as “Tex-Mex”, our menu is made up of a combination of flavors, with recipes and ingredients from across New Mexico, Mexican border towns, the Rio Grande Valley, deep South Texas, Austin and beyond. Our Green Chile sauce recipe was “borrowed” from a little hole-in-the-wall in Española, New Mexico, and our fajita marinade is an old South Texas family recipe (used at some “infamous” South Padre Island beach parties.) Mike and John (the founders) wanted to bring FRESH to Tex-Mex, and that commitment to food is still the core of everything Chuy's does today.

Three things you NEED to know about Chuy's
