Drummunity by Lori Fithian.  Drumminity is a word Lori invented for the community-building that happens when people come together around a circle of drums.  Lori will bring her collection of hand drums and percussion toys.  Everyone can participate.

Ensign National Regatta

August 18-21 Hosted by Pentwater Yacht Club

 

All races will be held on beautiful Lake Michigan within 1 mile of the Pentwater Channel.  Most boats will be leaving the channel between 9-10am each day and returning to the PYC docks around 4pm, depending on the weather. 

 

The Ensign is the larges one-design boat that is 22-1/2 feet long with fixed keel.  There are 40+ active fleets across the United States.  The Ensign is a recreational daysailer for up to seven people.  Competitive racers have a crew consisting of the skipper plus three crew members.

Annual Wooden Boat Show

August 23, 11am Pentwater Yacht Club and Pentwater Lake

 

The show is open to the public and a buffet lunch will be available from noon to 2 p.m. Boat exhibitor registration forms are available on the PYC website.

Dozens of beautifully built wood boats, vintage and new; powerboats, including Chris Craft, Century and Lyman, will be on display from 11a.m. to 3 p.m.

The public may cast their vote for a People's Choice Award, which will be presented along with Best Century and Best in Show awards at 3 p.m. At approximately 3:30 p.m., boat owners will form a boat parade touring Pentwater Lake followed by the Commodore's review at 4 p.m.

Vintage boat parts and collectibles will be on sale, as well as souvenir show t-shirts.
