July Business Matters
Thank you to Ken Marrero for speaking at our July Business Matters! Ken is with the Tennessee Division of Charitable Solicitations, Fantasy Sports, and Gaming.
This division of the state does 2 main things: arms Tennesseans with the information they need about charities that want their donation and to be a resource for non-profits across the state.

We enjoyed hearing about their division and appreciate Ken for making the trip to Obion County! We also appreciate Magnolia Place for sponsoring this month's event!

Mark your calendar for our August Business Matters! It will be August 21st at the Obion County Public Library and Simmons Bank will be speaking on "Identity Theft". We look forward to seeing you!
Obion County Mayoral Forum:
Thank you to the over 75 community members that came out to hear from our 3 Obion County Mayoral Candidates! Each candidate was asked the 3 following questions before the forum:

1) In discussions with each candidate, you each expressed the need for more quality jobs in Obion County. What is your plan to fill existing job openings as well as recruiting new jobs? How would you fund this initiative?

2) Obion County has strong of outstanding public education. What do you perceive as strengths and weaknesses within our Obion County School System? How would you fund any needed gaps?

3) In order to attract and retain people, both young and old, discuss how you would enhance the Quality of Life for the citizens of Obion County to make this the best place to live, work, play, and visit?

A&J Salvage
A & J Savage opened in 1981 and they buy any type of scrap metal. They have an awesome operation and we had no idea all they did until our official tour from the owner, Jock Johnson!! Thanks for letting us come hang out for a bit!
Obion County Public Library
Did you know the library has a beautiful outdoor space where they hold events in the summer? There’s an amphitheater, walking track, butterfly garden, and a beautiful fountain! Head on over to their Facebook so you can stay up-to-date on all of the FUN this summer and all year round!!
Jessica Crosson- LulaRoe
Jessica sells Lula Roe out of her home and recently became a member of our chamber! Each month, proceeds from her business are donated to local charities as well as organizations world wide. We are so lucky to have Jessica and her family in Obion County!

Delta Leadership Institute Graduates 6 Tennessee Leaders Poised to Support Economic Development Efforts 
PADUCAH, Ky. – The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) congratulates six new Tennessee graduates of the Delta Leadership Institute (DLI) Executive Academy who now have the tools to support DRA’s efforts to create jobs, build communities, and improve lives across west Tennessee and the Delta region.
The six graduates completed the year-long DLI Executive Academy, a training program that brings together public, private, and nonprofit-sector leaders from each of the eight states served by DRA. The program equips participants with the tools, experiences and networks that will help them create new economic opportunities in Delta communities as well as support the growth of..... Governor Haslam, Commission Rolfe
Award ThreeStar Grants to Sixty Tennessee Counties
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe announced today the 60 counties that will receive ThreeStar Grants.
