SYTA "ROAD SCHOLARSHIP" FOR STUDENTS IN NEED
The SYTA Youth Foundation established the Road Scholarship program to award funds to youth who, for various reasons, are unable to afford the cost of their group's travel.  Based on the belief that travel is essential to a complete education, it is the SYTA Youth Foundation's goal to make a positive difference, through travel, in the young lives of our global citizens.
All Road Scholarship nominations must be submitted by an educator, program leader, or designated school official for students under the age of 18.  Application period is open from September 1 to October 17, 2014.  Applications will only be accepted online.

Looavul ... LBelle of Louisvilleooeyville ... Louisville
By Jana Keller, GNTT Operations Manager
I recently participated in a tour presented by the Visitors Bureau of Louisville, Kentucky.  This was my first time to Louisville but it won't be my last ~ what a delightful city and an excellent destination for the student market!  Louisville is located along the Ohio River and is a very manageable city with easy access to attractions.  And of course motor coach friendly!!  See more info on Louisville.
SUSTAINABILITY TAKES FRONT SEAT
Study reveals motorcoaches are greenest form of transportation.  A study commissioned by the ABA Foundation and conducted by M .J. Bradley and Associates compares motorcoaches to 11 other modes, including intercity rail (Amtrak), transit buses, commuter rail, domestic air travel and private automobiles. Across all 11 modes, motorcoaches lead in environmentally conscious transportation.
Motorcoaches average nearly 240 passenger miles per gallon.  In terms of carbon dioxide emissions, motorcoaches are more than twice as efficient as the next closest mode, more than three times as efficient as Amtrak, and eight times more efficient than a single-occupant car.  Click here for the full report.
