There are so many ways to get involved in Conflict Resolution Month. One of the best ways is to become a Synergizer and join a Team!

Conflict Resolution Month Teams are groups of folks who have come together to coordinate an aspect of Conflict Resolution Month. There is a wide range of diversity in team activities--chances are, there is a team that would be a great fit for the contribution of your time and talents!

Check out the details of each team here.  If you don't see a team that's right for you, feel free to attend the monthly Synergizer meeting and suggest something new!

August , 2016

Let's get out there and let others know about our work and opportunities to encourage constructive problem solving across Colorado!  We invite you to spend a few hours staffing a table and telling people about our campaign at these events:
  • Wednesday, October 12 and/or Thursday, October 13 at The Colorado Safe School Summit in Thornton
  • Thursday, October 20 at The 11th Annual Conflict Resolution Conference in Colorado Springs
  • Friday, November 11 at The Statewide Alternative Dispute Resolution Conference in Denver
Spending a day at the conferences is energizing and reminds us of the importance of our efforts!  We have materials and copies of this year's book selection for you to share.  If you are available, please send an email to with the dates and times you can staff the table! Thank you for your willingness to contribute your valuable time to increase civility and the use of professional services in Colorado.
For the first time, we hosted a table at the 4 th Annual "Women Powering Change" event on July 14 th. Mary Zinn and Cary Leher, representing the Synergizers and Statewide Outreach respectively, joined 103 other exhibitors at Mile High Station, a beautiful special events venue tucked away at 2027 Old West Colfax in Denver.

Admission was free, and attendance numbered close to 1,000 people, as participants gathered to celebrate and connect with Colorado women who are creating change locally and globally.  Under the auspices of The Women's Foundation of Colorado, this energetic and informative event brings together nonprofits, innovative leaders, passionate philanthropists, and inspiring activists. So, of course, Conflict Resolution Month in Colorado fit right in!
Our goal was to get people engaged in: learning skills of conflict management, spreading the word, and inviting folks to join the Synergizers. We created a colorful table display and handed out a variety of brochures, business cards, window signs, and pins. We highlighted this year's book selection, Forgiving Others, Forgiving Ourselves, and sold several copies. Our new "Ten Tips" cards were by far the most popular item of the day. Old colleagues and new friends stopped by throughout the 4-hour "expo". We invited them to plan an October event, to contact their local library to highlight Conflict Resolution skills during the month, and to keep on thinking of ways to make Colorado the most civil state in the nation!
The celebration ended at 8pm, and we reluctantly said our goodbyes to the capable organizers and the visionary event founder, Cynda Collins Arsenault. We both agreed that it was a terrific venue for Conflict Resolution Month in Colorado, and we hope to have a presence again next summer.

Statewide Outreach Coordinator
In celebration of the first day of Conflict Resolution Month in Colorado, the Library Team will distribute 25 copies of our selected book, Forgiving Others, Forgiving Ourselves by Myra Isenhart and Michael Spangle in addition to donated conflict resolution books throughout Denver's Little Free Libraries. We are officially kicking off our book drive and are asking for any conflict resolution, anti-bullying, or non-violence related texts you are able to donate! Please contact Tallon Clancy at for more information and feel free to drop off your donations at The Conflict Center in the designated collection box at the front office. Thank you!
A big welcome to our new Movie Selection Team Leader, Voradel Carey! Who commits at her very first synergizers meeting? Yes, Voradel did! Voradel and other team members are reviewing films this month and will report at the September meeting when our selection will be made. You can send ideas to the team by emailing Voradel at Welcome to our newest Team Leader!
