Mandala Madness

Mandalas are everywhere and, for us, the conjure up the spirit of Summer so we have chosen some of our favourites for you.  They are also a great way to use up odds and ends of yarn, so if you are de-stashing, check out our selection

Petal Power Mandala by Alia Bland has just launched on Ravelry and is encased in a hoop.  Why not make a few and hang them around your house and garden.

They can also be used as embellishments on pillows or bags or even turned in to a throw like the  Mandala Sampler Throw by Bendy Carter.

If you can't crochet you don't need to miss out thanks to this lovely  Knitted Mandala by Frankie Brown.

An absolute classic,  Sophie's Garden by Dedri Uys is a feast for the eyes.

Can you recommend any other  Mandalas you think we should try? Please share them with us on our Facebook page .
KnitPro New Collection - Part 2

We are delighted to offer you our second sneak preview of our 2017 collection which will be hitting a yarn store near you.  This month we are very excited to show you some of our new winding and yarn accessories

We know many of you buy your yarn in hanks, not just from indie dyers, but many of the big brands have them in their collection these days.  Carefully unwinding your hank is essential to preparing your yarn for knitting or crochet, so we have developed a range of handmade wooden products in natural, decorated and the signature wood that we use in our Symfonie ranges.

Our beautifully made swift expands to accommodate any hank, no matter how large or small.  The mechanism rotates smoothly make unwinding easy.

Our new ball winder is a wonderful piece of engineering, which will fix to any surface and makes a wonderfully even ball to work from.

Now that you have unwound your yarn we have the tools to make sure your ball doesn't bounce around the floor picking up dust.  Our new range of yarn boxes are very elegant and will tone in with your decor, while our yarn dispenser rotates as you use your yarn and holds your ball perfectly.

We hope you enjoy our new collection.  Don't forget to keep an eye on our Facebook page to see our new tools in action.
On With the Show

It is at this time of year that we get very excited about all the shows and yarnie events that are coming up in the calendar.

Yarndale takes place on 23rd and 24th September this year in the picturesque town of Skipton.  As well as all the lovely yarn keep your eyes peeled for the display of knitted and crocheted hearts and the Yarndale double decker bus.

The Loch Ness Knit Fest is held in the heart of the Highlands from 13th- 15th October. As well as the stunning scenery the event has a host of wonderful presenters including Christel Seyfarth, Di Gilpin, Woolly Wormhead and Hazel Tindall.

The Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace in London from 11-15th October is a real extravaganza with loads of interesting yarns and fascinating workshops.  Not only does it cover knitting and crochet but sewing and quilting as well.

Our friends at Knit For Peace are holding The Great Knit Fest on 5th November.  With lots of interesting exhibitors this is a great opportunity to pick up Christmas presents for your yarnie friends.

These are just a few of the shows on offer but if you want to find an event near to you UK Hand Knitting has a great events calendar on their website.
