July 2017 Adoptions
It's been a devastating month

In July,  110 homeless pets found new homes thanks to adopters!  Thank you for adopting from our shelter.

We hope when your friends and family members are ready to make add a pet to their family that you will advocate for adoption.

Grooming Services Provided by "Dirty Paw's Grooming"

About the "Dirty Paw's" Groomer:
The Humane Society of Charles County has partnered with Miss Christina Bowie.  Miss Bowie has been grooming since 2013 and she grooms both dogs and cats of all sizes.  At present, she is only able to groom small to medium size dogs.  Miss Bowie will travel to you and groom in the comfort of your pets' own home, or, you can travel to her for a full service grooming package.  Miss Bowie also volunteers her grooming services to help some of the homeless pets who are in dire need of some TLC.  Miss Bowie has donated her time to help a current Pomeranian who was a little fearful when dropped out the shelter receive a much needed hair cut.  She will also be visiting to help groom other homeless pets who would otherwise be looked over simply because they are in need of a bath and a hair cut.
What Dirty Paw's Grooming Services Offer:
  • AKC breed cuts
  • Baths
  • Nails
  • Teeth Cleanings

How Becoming a Client of Dirty Paw's Helps our Shelter:
Miss Bowie, in partnering with the Humane Society of Charles County, will donate a portion of the grooming fee to our shelter from any client that is referred to her through the shelter. Just inform Miss Bowie before your service that the Humane Society of Charles County recommended Dirty Paw's.  Not only do you receive a wonderful full service grooming experience, but our shelter will receive a donation back to our shelter.

HYPERTHERMIA -- IT'S REAL AND KILLS!

The dog days of summer has settled in on our area as we continue to see heat and humidity day after day!  We still hear stories of pets being left in vehicles and want to keep spreading the word to never leave your pet in a motor vehicle even for just a minute, and even with the windows rolled down.  A vehicle heats up so quickly in the summer, so please, if you love your pet, allow them to stay home in the air conditioning while you run your errands.
