From school supplies for a first grader to tuition and textbooks for college, back-to-school costs can add up. But when it comes to a fast Internet – often as necessary for students as a backpack – parents will be glad to know they are getting much more for their money compared to 10 years ago.
Even as Internet speeds have risen and its cost has dropped, affordability is still an issue for some families. Yet cable is committed to making sure no child falls behind or is denied the learning opportunities that the Internet can provide.
Charter Communications joins Texas State Rep. Roland Gutierrez for launch of low-cost broadband service for families and seniors
Charter Communications, Inc. was joined by Texas State Rep. Roland Gutierrez and Cynthia Cabral from Sen. Jose Menéndez’ office on July 19 at the Boys & Girls Club of San Antonio for a launch celebration of a new low-cost, high-speed broadband service, Spectrum Internet Assist, in Texas.
Part of Rep. Gutierrez’ district includes a Charter service area where the program is being launched. “I am extremely pleased with Charter’s efforts here to keep families and communities connected,” he said. “This new, low-cost broadband service program helps to provide important technology that would otherwise be unavailable to seniors and students in need.”
