The MHA100 $4500 headphone amp boasts unique McIntosh features. McIntosh's exclusive Autoformers provide exactly the right drive with a special version of power guard for three different headphone impedance ranges (8-40, 40-150 and 150-600 ohms). The McIntosh exclusive Crossfeed provides a more convincing image than a standard headphone amp.  More like listening to speakers. The MHA100 also has a power amplifier providing a minimum of 50 watts/channel (with power guard) for speakers. The compact size of the MHA100 makes it ideal for a desktop system and great for driving a good set of compact speakers.
