10:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Reestablish your connection with the earth and gravity with "Frameworks Balance." We'll establish a fine-tuned sense of where we are in space and learn methods to strengthen and maintain our sense of balance. You'll explore your base of support and learn to design your own. Yoga students and teachers alike will learn the language of balance, so you can describe your experience and help others describe theirs.
Whether you're an advanced yogi working with handstands or a teacher looking for ways to reduce the chance of falls in older populations, you'll find this workshop helpful and informative. Richard's insights into balance are designed to remove frustration that students experience when practicing. When we learn to speak about our experience in poses, we gain autonomy and contentment in our practice.


Global Frameworks: Yoga and the Lymph System
2:30 PM - 5:00 PM

The lymph system is a series of rivers and channels that detoxes the body and aids digestion. This workshop is a guide to keep your lymph system moving and strong.
Through slides and discussion, you'll learn the basics of the lymphatic system. We will review lymph's role and pathways in the body, as well as how it interacts with our other systems. Then, we will practice a yoga sequence that supports your system. This is an all-levels workshop that assumes a generally healthy lymphatic system.
 

Trainees begin teaching this month!

Come out and support out RYT200 Trainees as they teach their first group classes at Sangha Center.  They will be teaching some of the Community classes and Beginner Yoga classes in August and September.

Outdoor Yoga Classes

We will offer three chances to practice outside this month!

These classes will be held at the park on the corner of Beaver Street and River Road. Please bring a mat and any props that you might need.  Suggested donation of $10.

Please check the online schedule prior to arrival for any necessary weather cancellations. No rain dates.

Down Dog With Your Dog with Jenn G.:
Bring your pup for this fun beginner class! Owners are responsible for dog for the entire class time. Donations to BC Humane Society.
Sunday, August 26 at 6pm 

Yoga : On and Off the Mat

This 6 month training begins in October and is the prerequisite to the RYT200 Training. You will learn the history and philosophy of yoga as well as the styles and postures that make up a hatha yoga practice. 

This class will not teach you to be a yoga teacher on it's own, but it will deepen your personal practice.

David Lesondak, BCSI, ATSI, FFT, LMT will teach us the about fascia and the fascial lines (using the Anatomy Trains model). David will then address your individual postural patterns and asymmetries to help deepen your yoga practice. David recently published his first book, "FASCIA What it is and why it matters," through Handspring Publishing.

Sangha Center is honored and humbled to host Raghunath for a Maha Sadhana - great practice.  This exciting 2 1/2 hours will include advanced asana and sequencing, chanting, pranayama, and practical yoga philosophy.
