Dear Friends of A Novel Experience,  
    
      We now join the ranks of folks who have had a computer crash...and with it, much of our data...we are focused now on one word: back-up. Our apologies for a late monthly newsletter! August is always a bit of an in-between month for us--still really, really hot and humid. The start of the school year next week always takes us by surprise. It seems so early! And, the store is getting ready to be one of the main gathering places for the 15th edition of SlowExposures, due on September 14th through the 17th--we hope  you visit the show in Concord and stop by to see what's happening in the store and around the Square for that wonderful weekend of photography of the rural South. 

      Without further ado, on with the show! Visit us to see Tina Brown's wonderful photo show on all-things-water. Enjoy the last month of our pool of beach reads. Join me in this photographic study of Water as a Verb.

THE NOVEL POETS AND PROSE WRITERS GROUP:

 For writers and poets--keep writing!  

 
EVERY  MONDAY MORNING :  
The Knit-a-Longs are here to purl, slip, and practice their knitting--they are also great helpers for those who are just getting the hang of it! Come from 11 am-1 pm with your project and your questions! (We hear they crochet, too). 
  
 
TUESDAY, August 1: Our Spirituality Book group met! If you missed it, please come next month--the first Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m. Thanks, Ann Marie for helping us get out the word to this fantastic group of folks!

 
TUESDAY EVENINGS: EVENING KNITTERS
The knitters are here on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7 to do the knitting thing! And, needlepointers and crocheters are more than welcome. Come on out!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 3: Our DROP-IN, GUILT FREE BOOK CLUB
That's today! This month we're reading "The Wangs Vs. the World--it's smart and funny! 

  
SUNDAY, AUGUST 27 @ 3:00 pm: LIVING ROOM CONVERSATIONS
     This month we'll explore "FOREIGN AFFAIRS" in our monthly exercise in civic conversation. There are only a dozen spots--sign up by emailing us at [email protected]. We're looking for folks who want to be a part of a balanced, robust discussion on the topic in the hopes of discovering common ground and learning from each other.  
 
 
 
THURSDAY, AUGUST 10th: THE NERD HERD
meets at 7:00 p.m. Shaunasee welcomes all fans of great Young Adult reads--This month the group will be reading Dragons of Nova. And, check out our Nerd Herd FB page!
