The theme for  this year's conference social event is "Social Work Super Heroes." The rationale behind the theme is that social workers do extraordinary things for their clients and communities, displaying super-power-like skills every day. There was even a  TEDx Talk presented about social workers as super heroes! To generate some excitement and raise awareness about the social work profession, we have launched a #SocialWorkSuperPower campaign!

How you can get involved:
  1. download & print the sign here
  2. write in your social work super power
  3. post a photo of yourself holding your sign using the hashtag #SocialWorkSuperPower - Tag us on social media and we will share your post!

Emerge: Equipping Women to Run for Office
One thing is clear in the wake of the 2016 election; people are waking up and getting ready to take back our government and make it work for the people again. That’s why Emerge is proud to announce we are partnering with a number of progressive grassroots organizations across the Commonwealth to train future women candidates!

We’re traveling around Pennsylvania working with Democratic women who think that running for office might be a good fit for them, but need a little more information to start the process of choosing a race and preparing to run a campaign!

If this sounds like you, register today for one of our trainings at emergepa.org/together
