Hep B United Summit Recap
Hep B United (HBU) held its fifth annual HBU Summit in Washington D.C. in July. At the HBU Summit, leaders in hepatitis B from around the country including public health agencies, national non-profit organizations, community coalitions, and individuals and family members affected by hep B gathered together. Philadelphia was well represented with our own Adult Viral Hepatitis Coordinator, Jack Hildick-Smith! They shared best practices, resources, and highlighted
Hepatitis B Foundation's #
justB storytelling campaign. Together, HBU partners visited Capitol Hill and celebrated World Hepatitis Day with a scavenger hunt. Read more about the Hep B United Summit

#justB There for Others
July's feature video shares Kenson's story. When Kenson learned he was hepatitis B positive, there treatment was unavailable on the Marshall Islands, so now he and his wife are educating the Pacific Islander community in Hawaii.
During 2017, we are highlighting a unique patient story each month. Our #justB Storytelling Campaign is a national effort to bring individuals affected by hepatitis B to share their stories to shed light on this serious disease, decrease stigma, discrimination, and promote the importance of testing and treatment for hepatitis B. If you want to host a screening of the videos, we can help! It is a great way to spread the word and engage your local communities! Email Catherine.Freeland@hepb.org.
