Please join us for our kickoff meeting this year on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Austin Public Library's University Hills Branch, 4721 Loyola Ln., Austin.

Upcoming Open Mic Events

On Saturday, Sept. 9, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Poetry Aloud will meet on the second floor of the Georgetown Public Library. This event will be ongoing every second and fourth Saturday, hosted by Mike and Joyce Gullickson.

The APS Fourth Thursday Open Mic will take place Sept. 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. at NeWorlDeli , 4101 Guadalupe, hosted by Linda Marie Cossa. This month's featured readers are: Elizabeth Rabi, Jim Rabi, Nancy Fierstien, Christa Pandey, Christina M. Jackson and Jane Perdue.

APS Saturday Critique Group

Join the APS Saturday Critique Group Saturday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m at Milwood Branch Library, 12500 Amherst Dr.

Bring 10 copies of a poem in progress to discuss with friendly poets. The group is facilitated by Elizabeth Krop f. Email [email protected]  for more information.

Next month's critique group will be Oct. 7, at 1 p.m at Old Quarry Branch Library, 7051 Village Center Dr.

APS sends a warm thank you to Anjela Villarreal Ratliff for her hard work as editor for the Museletter last year. Cynthia Drake is taking over as the new editor this year. Cynthia is a full-time freelance writer and a mom of two young boys in Pflugerville. She would welcome assistance with the newsletter.
