SCORE Small Business Workshops
Do you run a small business, or do you dream of someday being your own boss? We can help! If you're looking to start a business, don't miss the Feb. 21 workshop, where you'll learn about different business structures, start-up costs, taxes, and more. Up next, on Mar. 8, is a business plan workshop. A good business plan can be used to secure financing or outside investors, attract partners or employees, keep yourself on track, and help you focus on your customers. Plus, every Tuesday you can stop by the Downtown Bend Library for confidential business planning with a SCORE mentor.
Be sure to visit the employment page on the library's website, where you'll find the most up-to-date job openings at the library. We're currently accepting applications for a Metadata Specialist (deadline Feb. 22) and a Human Resources Manager (deadline Feb. 21). Visit the employment page to learn more about both job openings and to apply.
In March we explore a variety of topics that center on
the theme of Neighbors. Which has us thinking about our neighbors to the north in Canada and some of their favorite things, one of which is curling. Central Oregon has its own burgeoning curling scene, making this the perfect time to learn more about
the history, rules, and skills of this cold-weather sport. We're offering two sessions on Mar. 7 (session 1 and session 2) that will teach you the basics of the sport as well as give you the opportunity to head out onto the ice with members of the Bend Curling Club. This is a free program, but registration is required and space is limited. Register online for session 1 or session 2.
